The JCC Mission & Camp JCC

JCC MISSION STATEMENT

The JCC shall be guided by the principles of Judaism and democracy and shall promote an understanding of, and a commitment to, Jewish thought, beliefs and values. The JCC shall enrich the life of the Jewish and general communities by developing and implementing programs for their recreational, educational, cultural, physical and social needs. The JCC shall stimulate and amplify the individual’s sense of responsibility to the local community and to society.

The Camp JCC program has been carefully constructed to promote the values expressed in the JCC Mission Statement. In addidtion,

JCC camp counselors are carefully selected, trained and paired to create the most effective team and positive camp environment possible.

JCC camp staff members receive extensive training in a week-long program that includes: training in age-appropriate programming, child development, conflict resolution, effective discipline, teambuilding and first aid.

Our goal is to help each camper realize his/her potential while at camp and to become successful in his/her own way.

Excellent staff-to-camper ratios allow for more individual attention and growth opportunities.

Experienced unit directors. Many of our counselors return each summer.
